Oh, Break

How I love thee.

It's been such a good break.(And I still have 2.5 weeks!) I've been able to get together with some old friends, and when I think about it as much as I wanted to leave back in August, Elk River is where my heart will forever be. I'm not sure why this is, but I'm just going to assume that it's because it's where I was born and raised, I've never moved therefore have never had to cut ties to the people that I grew up with. But for real, I'm hoping to have more good times, including getting together with friends tomorrow night for new years eve, and then I'm not sure what's in store after that. I do know I will be going back to the high school to visit a few people and favorite teachers(or perhaps, just one)

Post tomorrow about the past year and such(if I find the time.)

Duluth

Two weekends ago I went up to Duluth with my friend Andrew to visit a few friends. It was a really good weekend and we both had a good time. The ride up and back were a little long though, then again I just don't have the will to sit in a car for that long.

Andrews attempt at a handstand. =]

This is apparently the only way that Morgen can do a handstand.

This rope thing made Andrew feel like he was Spiderman.

Favorites

Well I'm home, and I'm happy I'm here.
I've just been looking at all my pictures lately, and decided that I'm going to do a "favorites" post, of some of my pictures, and then tomorrow I'll do one of my favorite pictures with friends, and then the next post will be about this past weekend when I went up to Duluth. This will probably forever be one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. Back when I just was pointing and shooting at things I thought looked cool.

2 DAYS!

This is crazy! I have two days left of fall semester freshman year! In a way it's like "FINALLY, the semester is over", but in another it's flown by. I'm officially done with 3 of my 5 classes, and will be done with the other 2 on Tuesday!
I can't wait to spend time at home, and for christmas and for sledding, and friends! Oh how i've missed being able to drive 5 minutes to see some of my friends!

I feel like I should be studying more than I am, but really I dont' have much to study for, I finished my final paper for college writing, and I've memorized all i.d's for my history test, the other part is an essay. And for German it's an essay but you get to use the book, so really I just have to memorize the sentence structure for perfect tense. I can tell you one thing, I'll be super excited for the end of spring semester it'll be the end to my language years for forever. That is unless, we get a different German prof. I just don't like this one that much.

Pictures Revisted

So I've only been out once to take pictures here, granted I take pictures with friends but I really just love the artistic kind more. So here are some of my personal favorites that I've taken:

This place has changed so much in two years. It was one of my favorite places to go because it was hidden behind houses and so peaceful, however about two summers ago, I think, we got a bunch of rain and half of this land is no longer dry.

That's all for now, I'll probably have more pictures for you later!!

OH SNAP!

Wow, I really can't believe that I have 5 more days here until the end of the semester! All that's keeping me from home is one class day, and 2(technically) 3 finals! I'll be done by Tuesday! Now the trick will be to get home, I've been trying to find a ride home but everyone else is apparently staying here until Thursday because they still have finals. =[

I have no finals on Monday though, so that'll be nice! it will be a day full of studying!
I can't wait to have that full month off! Well really I'll be working at JJ's, so I won't be doing nothing, but it'll still be nice!

Plus, before I do anything I think I'm going to be going up to UMD with a friend to stay up there with some other friends! =]

There was actually something important that I was going to write, but now I forget. So later, it will happen.

FRIENDS!

I just have to say that I love my friends, there truly is no one else I would rather spend my time with, than these people!
Fr. Paul, my lovely priest!

One of the best adults I've ever spent time with! Sue and I know how to have a good time!
My friend Andrew and I were browning meat together at the Taco night! Sorry it's sideways!
Group Picture! Here's what happened: I had to set the timer on my camera and then I had to get to my spot but there wasn't much time left, so I kind of had to half jump and then landed on everyone, and that's why everyone's laughing hysterically, or looks in pain.

A much better one! I didn't have to jump this time!

Funny One!

Everytime I think of Thanksgiving break now, I have a smile on my face! =]

Break

My break was nothing short of amazing.
I had an spectacular time catching up with my friends. There's nothing like absence making the heart grow fonder. Before I left for college I was SO ready to be done with Elk River, and almost everyone/everything that was there. After I left, I realized that there were still a few people that I really did genuinly miss, and still want to talk to/do still talk to today. To see all their beautiful faces again was really good.

But other than that, I had a good time at Feed my Starving Children, which is a catholic organization that does exactly what it sounds like, boxes up food for kids in places all over the country.
Thursday, it was good to see a few family members, and play a good old rendition of Newstrom Spoons, (which really is a different game than Spoons) we get super intense, and shed blood, and possibly break tables.

Friday night, I had a date with my dad, and we went and saw Harry Potter 7, I really liked it, but I do really need to re-read the book. However, since it's 2 parts I was upset when it stopped, I really wanted it to keep going. After Harry Potter I went to a "reunion party" with a few of my friends.

On Saturday, I went to Taco Saturday, at my friend Morgen's house and it was ridiculously fun.
Sunday was literally a day of rest/travel. I came back to school yesterday, and classes resumed today. But it was a well needed break.

Pictures posted soon!

Such a Long Week...

...because next week is a holiday, and i can't wait. Literally, these next 5 days of classes might kill me. I'm hoping that my Wednesday classes will be cancelled because then I can go home earlier(possibly). My first class is cancelled and now i'm just hoping my other 2 professors have a change of heart and let us skip.

I'm SO looking forward to 4 days at home, and then after that there's only 2 weeks of the semester left! (oh man.) AND THEN I HAVE A MONTH OFF!

Most of all i'm looking forward to this:

My own bed. And a bed that's up against a wall.
And of course all other things that come with home. (like a home-cooked meal)

Excitement

I talked to my sister on skype yesterday for an hour. It was a good hour, we talked about anything and everything. But the big topic was the Mission Trip this summer. Every time I talk about it, I get more and more excited! Both my sister and I will be going on the mission trip! I haven't been on one with her since 2007, and I'm SO excited! We're going to Mishawaka, IN. Not the place I wanted to go, but then again none of the places we've gone have really been my "ideal" places, but i've always had a good time, so it doesn't matter!

Plus, I found out that one of my friends that i met when in Rockford, 2 summers ago might be on staff this year! That would be SO awesome, even if she didn't end up at Mishawaka, she would be SO good for staff!

And I'm hoping I have a team like this:

Seriously, my team last year was SO AWESOME!

Alright, back to paper-editing for me.

Round Two

This is the same building as we found a few weeks ago when some us went on a midnight walk.
See? That's my friend Molly on the ladder.
Anyway...

I've always had this affection for grain elevators, like seriously every time I see one I want to take a picture of it. So I was pretty much in heaven when taking these pictures. =]

New Pictures!

For the first time in probably 4-6 months I went out and took pictures! It felt so good to do it! And here are some of the shots I got:

I have a few more to post, but I'll save those for later. =]
