Josh Turner

Well taking a little break from D.C pictures I think I'll finally post about the Josh Turner concert I went to way back in September!

Let me just say that getting most of the Jimmy crew together and one of my friends is one hell of a time.

All the Jimmy's a twin sister, and my friend Dustin!

Ya know, just chillin' with a security guard.

twinskies!

Having a blast!

Niagara Falls

On Tuesday the 23rd after we went to Ford's Theater we made our way up to Niagara, New York. It was beautiful! And on Wednesday we went to Niagara Falls.

After Niagara Falls, we went to Fort Niagara and stopped off at Lake Ontario, I think. It might have been Eerie.

On that Friday, we left for home and another two long days of travel followed.

Washington D.C part 3!

On that Monday we got a tour at the bureau of engraving and printing(no pictures allowed), it was interesting to see how money was made, but if I had known what the tour was going to be I'm not sure I would have woken up at 7 to go take a tour at 8:15. After that tour that we had a tour at the Capital and that was great! Our tour guide was great, and I really enjoyed learning about all the history, and about how the statues are chosen for each room and such! After the capital we went to the the Air and Space Smithsonian Museum. I think at that point in the day we were so overloaded with history, that we kind of just went through the motions of looking at the museum. It was really cool but I wish we could go back and see it again so that maybe I could take some more info in.

That Tuesday the 23rd we were leaving D.C but before we left we visited Ford's Theatre. Can I just say that I'm practically obsessed with Lincoln, seriously I wish I was alive when he was president, I feel like he would've been a pretty cool guy.

I haven't downloaded pictures from my point-and-shoot which is where all air and space museum pictures are so for now just enjoy the capital pictures!!

This lady's name is "Freedom" and she's perched above the Capital.

FORD'S THEATER!! Exactly where Lincoln was shot. (Found out about how everything went down and learned so much! maybe I'll tell it in a later post)

Where Lincoln was brought after he was shot. He lived for another 9 hours after he was shot. This bed is probably smaller in length then a twin, and Abe was 6'2" they had to lay him diagonally so he would "fit"

One more recap post then probably another post with pictures I haven't posted yet!

Washington D.C part 2

On the second day of full sight seeing, the 20th. We went to see the white house. Funny thing, the round rotunda that everyone associates with the white house is actually the back of it, but the "duller" column's/rotunda is the front side! We also went to the National Aquarium which I didn't take any pictures of, and my dad and I also went up to the top of the Old post office tower and it was pretty cool!

On Sunday we went to the Arlington Cemetery and the National Cathedral, I didn't take any pictures of the Cathedral simply because while yes it was majestic I just felt that a church is a church, no matter how many gargoyle's you put on it. At Arlington we got to see the changing of the guards at the tomb of the unknown solider and that actually took most of the day to see. After we went out to dinner we went back to see the monuments all lit up, I was kind of disappointed that not a whole lot of them were lit up. So I just posted Abe who was the best lit up one.

Sorry for the photo overload ahead!

This was the executive offices building next to the White House and it was immaculate!

Washington D.C!! (part 1)

Well I'm finally recapping my trip to D.C! It was a wonderful trip and I really should download some from my mom's camera that captured me in my true form. haha

One thing you should know about me is that I love road trips but 11 hours in a car can make me a little stir crazy.

So we started out the trip on Wednesday the 17th at 4:30 and we drove to chiacgo. A total of probably 7-8 hours. I think we got into our hotel around midnight.
The next day we woke up real early (like 6am or something) and got on the road to Washington! A total of 11-12 hours. I don't think we got there until like 10 o clock, with a time change and multiple stops!

On Friday the 19th it was our first official day of sight seeing in D.C! We decided to do the monuments /national mall and then did the Holocaust museum. While the Holocaust Museum was really good, I was readed out after it. I feel like since I'm still kind of fresh out of high school I knew a lot of the info that I read but some of it was new. But no pictures were allowed, so here are some of my favorite monuments.

World War II memorial!

We visited more monuments and those will be in a  later post!
I probably won't be breaking it down day by day but we'll see!

Politics

Yes, the P word. I know everyone's sick of it(including me) but it's all around blog-world and I do have a few cents to add to everyone else's.  I should have posted this on Tuesday or even Yesterday but as I was being lazy yesterday I napped and watched tv instead. With that being said, this is what I have to say about the election.

-I voted for Obama, and he won and I'm happy about it. While I'm still really young and have a long way to go with forming educated views on politics I think Obama has done a decent job the last 4 years, and while yes, the economy still isn't great NO ONE can turn an economy around in 4 years. Also he was pro marriage-equality and that pretty much sold me. I would consider myself a "middle of the road" type person politically I don't always agree with one side or the other it's more so split 50-50, but because I strongly believe in the right to marry whoever you love, I voted for Obama.

-No one will actually move to Canada, seriously, my newsfeed on facebook was all about Canada and moving. Obama has not messed up your life SO TERRIBLY the last four years that you need to move. Besides the fact that if you think you can run a country better than why don't you run for president? It really bothers me people get SO upset about elections.

-I respect Obama and even if I don't like what he's doing for the country he's the president and he deserves everyone's respect even if you don't like him...at all.

Two other bloggers have written really great posts about their view of election day, check them out.
here and here
The first one is more of a democrat and the second one a conservative republican.

Also, Washington D.C and Josh Turner concert are forth-coming.
