I forgot to add in the last post that it was pretty much blazing hot every day, there were a few threats of some t-storms, but nothing really ever came of them, besides monday night. Which to be honest, i think the staff overreacted about, well actually just Steve, but probably because he's from Florida? Actually i don't know, but anyway, we were under a tornado warning so they made us all go to the basement of the school, but we had to stay there for a while, however by this time i had egg in my hair from a carpenter commando's skit, and all i really wanted to do WAS TAKE A SHOWER! Anyway, Steve was kind of freaking out, and i wanted to be like, "um, in Minnesota we don't really do anything until the sky turns green and the sirens have gone off more than once" but i held it in. ANYWAY, back to the blazing hot-ness, my entire group pretty much sweat through every single shirt worn on any day. It was RIDICULOUS!
Now, a completely different subject..Photography. I feel like it's been SO long since i've taken any photo's, creatively at least. I really hope i can get out and take some really awesome pictures before i leave, which is in like a month!
In my photography folder, the last picture taken that was semi-decent was back in April! I really need to get on this!

Updates, I guess?
It's occurred to me that i haven't really actually talked about my mission trip. So here, i'll go day by day:
Saturday June 19th- Meet the St. Pat's kids at the McD's in Coon rapids around 9AM. We're on the road to manitowac wi, by about 9:30am. We're on the road all day until about 3:30 or so, with a stop for lunch in there, my car watched movies, and were overall "crazy" on the way there. We stayed in Manitowac because the leader of the St. Pat's kids is from there so we stayed at his church, sort of. Anyway, that night we went to mass and just kind of hung out did our own thing, and went to bed on the cafeteria floor of the school, connected with the church.
Sunday June 20th- Woke up around 7:30, only because some little girl felt the need to dribble a basketball around the floor while most of my church was still sleeping(they told us we had until 8:30 to sleep) Around 8:45-9 we went over to the high school to take showers, and came back to a really nice breakfast put on by scott's(the St. Pat's leader) mom, St Pat's wanted to rehearse a skit they would have to put on later that week, so SKD sat around for a while, but by 10 or 11 we were getting very ansy and decided to leave, scott had previously given us directions to milwaukee so we knew how to get there. By about 12:30-1pm we arrived in Milwaukee at the st. thomas more school we'd be staying at. Dinner started around 5 and program was at 7. We got our work assignment for the week, and we got to meet the people that we would be hanging out with for the rest of the week. I met these 6 Wonderful people:

From L-R: me, Logan, Dave, KC, Briana, Kyle. (There were actually 7 of us but Luke got turned into a troubleshooter for the week) I honestly cannot say enough good words about any of them. By the end of the week we all had nicknames for each other and had pretty much become an inseparable team.
Monday June 21st- Wake up nice and early around 6:15. Don't actually get moving until 6:45. We eat breakfast have morning program(basically just reminders about the day) and then were sent off to our locations to do God's work. Our resident's name was Vida, she had just bought this home and, let me tell you, it was a major fixer-upper. We first took out about 5 tree stumps(big ones, like half a tree basically) and took out a few remainders of a fence. (i should add here, that our main project for the week was putting up a fence) The tree stumps we could get out (there were about 2-3 that we couldn't at the time) we did in about 2-3 hours. Afterwards, we went upstairs and started on a door for her(the previous door had been broken into) However, the door's she had ordered weren't the right size this one was a) to small and b) to wide. So Logan, KC, and I got to work tearing out the door jam, and trying to figure out a way to fit the door into the previous door-way. Dave comes up and saws off a quarter inch of the door, and the thing was straight too! We FINALLY got it to fit and it only took 4 hours, let me tell ya, Logan was getting mad at the door. By the time we had finally "finished" the door it was 3pm which is the time we leave our worksites and go back to the school.Oh and this night, i got egged... =]... i think. and there was severe weather! =]
And so that i don't have to repeat it over and over again- every morning we woke at 6:15 and had breakfast and morning program and every night we went back to the school had dinner and program.
Tuesday June 22nd- We went back to Vida's and that day we started working on her balcony, her balcony needed all the spindles to come off and for the lead paint to be chipped away. She had bought new spindles that we were suppose to paint and put up along with repainting the railings of the balcony. However, her balcony was made of like some sort of aluminum or some very reflective solar panel stuff, so at high noon and all throughout the afternoon, YOU WERE BAKING! While taking off the spindles was really only a 2 person thing, the rest of us were inside painting a room, however the walls were dirty so while it took an entire gallon to paint one small room it probably should've only taken us maybe a half gallon, with clean walls. I should add that we had a dance party, and 4-corners this night. a different blog post, all it's own.
Wednesday June 23rd- Back to Vida's. We started building our fence today. It was a very long, exhausting process. We had to dig holes, put posts in, tamp down dirt, bring out the panels, make everything flush, nail to post, repeat. Also on this day we finished up the balcony, with the painting and such. I think we put in about 8 posts and 8 panels, and it took us all day/ about 6-7 hours, to do that!
Thursday June 24th- Last day at our resident's house. Today we finished up the fence. But before that two neighbors came over one asked us if we put dirt in his garbage can, which we didn't. But we dumped it out for him anyway, which we later found out had bricks and human feces in...lovely right?! and another neighbor came over and asked if we broke into his garage. Again, we didn't. Anyway, this being the last day the workcamp gave us extra time to finish up our sites, and by extra time i mean maybe an extra 45 minutes. maybe. But we finished up the fence, which probably took 6-7 hours, and we finished putting in some flower boxes and putting up a railing for the front of our house. Thankfully, another team had come and finished up the painting, otherwise we would have been there until 9 o'clock. However, they painted the rooms, but left everything for us to clean up. How nice of them. We left Vida's around 5:30 and got back to workcamp around 6 or so. A FULL 3 HOURS after we were supposed to be back. We had run out of all water around 3 o' clock and all of us were going a little crazy, we didn't have much of a filter left, and we were all basically just saying whatever came to mind. And this is how these pictures came to be:

When we got back to the school, we were kind of running through the halls possibly yelling things like "GROUP 11 IS THE BEST" or something like it. That night we sat together, and were the most obnoxious team there, but we loved every minutes of it. Also on the last night of camp, the resident's are invited to come and just say a few words of thanks or whatever they feel they want to say to their group. We were actually surprised that Vida came because she hadn't been home much and earlier that day she had said that she wasn't sure if she would be able to make it.
Friday June 25th- Fun Day. We spent the day at 6 flags, and i found out that Matt(our male chaperone) was the coolest ride "buddy" ever! He went on a ton of coasters with us! =]
Saturday June 26th- Drive home. We spent from about 8:30-4:30 on the road, with a few stops in there. We got back to SKD around 4:30 I met Matt's kids and then took off to 3 grad parties.
Sunday June 27th- My grad party. It was a success. with a few minor bumps.
